Video / Cachureando

A women wanders around a place full of waste and garbage. She gathers what could have some value and accumulates distinctive forms. After witnessing the earthquake in Chile in February 2010, I was struck by the huge mountains of debris. In Santiago many places exist where poor people rummage through trash, this socially uncomfortable situation was amplified by the earthquake. Cachureando captures a personal action of recycling which contrasts an untenable society of consumption and its environmental consequences
